In order to participate at the Grand Prix, the TECHART GT Street RS based on Porsche 911 GT2 required a road & safety certification, proving its official road-worthiness. Behind the wheel for TECHART was Jörg Hardt, one of the most successful drivers in the Porsche Carrera Cup. After his victory in the GT category, he was stunned by the black & white TECHART GT Street RS saying: "The car was fantastically prepared. It is built to perfection".
The TECHART engineers teamed up with Bilstein suspension experts and developed the ultimate sport suspension for optimum performance and handling. The most crucial part however, in securing the victory in this competition, was the powerful TECHART biturbo engine, with an output of 700 hp / 515 kW at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 860 Nm at 4,500 revs. TECHART's wheels of choice were the brand new and light weight one-piece TECHART Formula III wheels, sized 8.5x20" front and 12x20" rear.
In addition to its GT win, TECHART also secured victory in the Convertible category. Jörg Hardt drove the white 580 PS / 441 kW TECHART GT Street Convertible to success with a lap time of 1:10,382 minutes.
TECHART's double triumph at the sport auto Tuner Grand Prix 2008 again demonstrated the company's premiere positioning in the car enhancement market.
