As a founder of the business, I have had the privilege of driving many different high-end cars over the past few years. Even still, very rarely do I have the chance to get behind the wheel of an automotive cult car like the Mercedes Benz G63 AMG or its latest incarnation, the ‘Edition 463’

To find customers ready to play and improve on the status-que is not easy, particularly in Australia where the cost of these vehicles is quite simply ridiculous. None the less, some may argue modifying these cars is sacrilegious and some do welcome a fresh, new and even more exciting opportunities with open arms.

This is yet another Mercedes G63 AMG modifications we have undertaken this year. Our first incorporated an entire colour change, however, this white example, pushes the modification boundaries even further.
Initially, for the less indoctrinated in the G-Wagen world, the car may look even ‘standard’, however besides the obvious cosmetic changes on the outside, we have introduced a whole lot of go-fast bits and other modifications including power upgrade, exhaust, suspension, wheels and a whole lot more.
The entire project consisted of the following components:
- 23-inch Brabus (11-inch-wide) Forged Monoblock F Platinum Edition wheels
- Special Tyres by Yokohama (not available in Australia) with 305/35 R23 all around
- Brabus bi-modal, valve controlled sports exhaust mufflers
- RamSpeed custom high performance catalytic converters and turbo down pipes
- KraftWerk ECU Power Tune for additional 100 Kw and 140 Nm of torque
- Brabus Ride Control (electronically shock absorbers for automatic damper adjustment)
- Brabus WideStar Body Kit incl Carbon Bonnet add-on and roof spoiler
- RamSpeed custom Carbon Mirror housing
- RamSpeed custom carbon steering wheel and other carbon interior accents
The result is quite spectacular. Outside of the substantially increased exhaust note, a much more brutal power delivery, the ride comfort has been improved thanks to Brabus Ride control system. Even though the 23-inch wheels typically add more harshness on an already very bumpy original G63 ride, the system allows the user to switch between supple and sportier ride to suit driving conditions and surfaces.
The Brabus Forged Monoblock F Platinum Edition 23 inch wheels add a touch of class on the vehicle typically fitted with OEM / standard wheels (also forged on the 463 edition cars). The selected tyres are not ordinary either. They are 305 by 35 series at front and at rear, adding even more planted look to the slightly lower stance introduced by installing the Brabus suspension kit.
When looking at power options, we have looked at easily achievable turbo upgrades, like the ones used recently on our W205 C63 AMG project, but the % power increase just via simple ECU tune was quite enough and our customer was very happy with the outcome.
When it came to interior, it was hard to improve without going overboard. This is why we carefully selected just the steering wheel and side door panels to undergo custom carbon conversions with thicker grips, soft leather and red stitching introduced on the OEM steering wheel.
This is one and only Australian Mercedes G63 AMG ‘463 Edition’ G-Wagen converted to this extent.
